I just got this kit and it says stick shift option. Does this mean I lose automatic functions? Do I HAVE to manually shift it to get it to shift? I'm confused. What will it do in DRIVE and OD?

I'd also like to get the 1-2 shift softer at some point but I need to get this kit in so the car works first.

 

I add the transGo Junior to get the 1-2 part throttle shifts to be smooth. The 700-2-3 will not make them smooth at part throttle. To keep it full automatic "do not" do the "stick only" part of the instructions.

 

Should I install everything in the Junior kit?

 

With the TransGo Junior instructions, do step 3 on page one. Step 2 on page two (the band must wiggle when the gold shim is installed, if not take it out). On step 1 on page three, collapse the brown spring one time before installing it, then install the red spring along with the "one" aluminum shim. On step 2 on page three, install the black spring on the accumulator valve. On step 3 on page three, install the red spring on the line bias valve. On page four, install new filters as shown, and check band clearance as indicated. Intall the rest of the 700-2-3 as far as the new 3-2 valve, and drilling the valve body and separator plate. DO NOT adjust the 2-4 band as described on the last page. Follow the TransGo Junior on page two for this as stated earlier.
