TV cable adjustment question
TV cable adjustment question
I have been having a lot of power problems with my car, you can find them in the V6 board, so I wanted to adjust the TV cable to see if that would help.
My car has always seemed to shift right, it shifted at 10-15, 20-25, 30-35 and 40-45 with the last being the torque converter locking I'm guessing. But my problem with it was when it was in OD and I floored it. It made no attempt to shift down, so it felt like I had now power to climb hills or pass.
So today I adjusted the TV cable by depressing the adjustment tab and pushing the slider as far back it would go. Then I opened it up to WOT but the slider didn't click at all. I then to it for a test drive and it shifted way different. It was a short test but it seemed like it was shifting at 20-25 with a hard shift, then around 35, and then at 55. I took it right home because I didn't want to hurt anything. I don't know what really to do for it since I tried to do the adjustment and it didn't click at all.
Is it possible to shorten the cable or something so the slider will click some, like maybe it has to much slack? Thanks!

Re: TV cable adjustment question
Well, the story is it is all stock, and I think the cable is stock also. However the previous owner had the engine replace with a jasper create engine when the old one lost an oil pump. So maybe when the changed the engine the changed something or the cable.
If I found a way to shorten the cable so I could get the slider to click, would that work?
