Really it isen't that bad. Just because you have a 3800 stall convertor dosen't mean that that car won't move until 3800 RPM. You will need to a little more RPM taking off from a light but it really isen't bad. Honestly, if you put the car in gear and let off the brake the car will move. You will need to build a pretty serious engine to take advantage of that convertor though. I had mine behind a big roller cammed, Ported Sportman II headed 355 in my mostly street driven 1974 TA.

i drivr a 300 on the street like everyone else states. There no bad and flash to the specifyed rpm when you step to it. Just remeber if you get a higher stall its gonna be more heat and you will need a tranny cooler.

No, thats the mis understanding of converters. The stall speed is not the rpm at which car moves at. Its the rpm at which the converter is fully locked.
The rpm you start to move at, cruise rpm, etc is set by the converter slip, size, etc.
My old combo I had a 11" 2800 stall. Now I have a 9.5" 3500 stall custom built to my app.
The 3500 stall is "tighter" around town than my 2800 was.
The 2800 would start moving the car at about 1200 rpm, My 3500 stall will pull the car at idle a tad (1000 rpm idle speed)
My car is a daily driver too and I have no probs with eaither converter.
The only time you are gonning to get that full stall speed is when you flash the converter. Floor the throttle, the rpm will flash up to your converters flash stall speed
