I have done a few searches, and haven't found an answer, maybe I'm overlooking it somewhere. I'm swaping a tko450 into the firebird. Can I use the stock speed sensor for the speedometer in the t-5 or do I need and adapter, like the 4-pac from jags that run. The camaro the trans came out of had a mechanical speedo, so it's just set up fo that. Thanks, Ryan

 

whats a tko450? never heard of it. they are usually tko500 and tko600, and ford has a tko900.

you would need an adapter, since hte trans has a ford style sender bore. If the trans comes with the sender, and it was used in a camaro with a mechanical speedo cable, then it should work, but you seem to have a 92 camaro, and that has an electronic speedo.

the tko600 that i have has a electric output as well, but again, its a ford sender with more pulses per mile than the 4000 stock pulses the stock guages use. You will need an programmable speedo, or a converter likt eh dakota digital boxes to convert the signal to a usable ppm.

the trans should come with a crossmember adapter of some kind, a shifter and a adapter for the bellhousing, be sure to get it all. You need the trans yoke too, 31spline, ford c6 style

 

Yeah, I've got everything from the bellhousing on back, I just don't have the adapter for the electronic speedometer because the guy I bought it from had it in an older car. So do the tko transmissions all have a ford output on them for the speedometer then? Thanks, Ryan
