1991 z28 speedometer not working
1991 z28 speedometer not working
I`ve got a 1991 z28 was originally a t5, now a t56 with 4.10 rear gears. I would like to know how to get the speedometer to work. When you first start to move it will peg out on 145mph, as you speed up it drops to zero. And help would be appreciated. Thanks, Dwayne

Re: 1991 z28 speedometer not working
The f-body T56 has a 17 pulse per driveshaft revolution VSS signal generator in the tailshaft. This has to get converted to a 4000 (or 2000) pulse per mile signal for your VSS buffer input. The easiest way is to purchase the Dakota Digital SGI-5 signal recalibration box to do this. This is just spliced in between the transmission and chassis wiring.
