1989 camaro v6 700r4 stock torque converter

I was driving to work this morning and everything seemed fine. I was parked at a stop light and then when the light turned gear,my car wasn't moving fast then i believe the tranny shifted into second about 15 mpg then I heard a big pop sound then it slimmed into full gear and start to move normally again. It seems fine at the 3 other stops When I got off work my tranny didn't seems to have full power until 2k rpm plus. When I give it alot of gas it seems like it would wait a send then just jump to 2.5k rpm and have full power. What do you guys think it is? I tried driving at 35 in third gear and drop it into second and it would take 1.5 secs to down shift.
