camaro t5 in a bird need help

camaro t5 in a bird need help

so we got the 89 formula 305 tbi t5 car but the old owner replaced the t5 with one out of a 86 camaro so long story short how do i get a cable driven t5 to work on an electric signal?

If the PO didn't cut the VSS and tucked it up somewhere (yellow and purple wires, IIRC), locate it and plug it into the new T-5. You may find, however, that the speedo won't read correctly and you'll need to swap the drive and/or drive gears appropriate to your rear gearing.

JamesC is correct on the wires but you will need to replace the cable sending unit with a vss unit
