clutch pivot ball 'shape'

I am trying to figure out exactly what my pivot ball 'should' look like. At first, I figured the one I have HAS to be worn, but if you were to look at it very closely, it doesn't seem possible that it could have worn in like this without also leaving a smooth/shiny surface.
This is from an ~89ish~ camaro with a WC T5 trans and hydro clutch setup.
Maybe someone could offer their input as to wether or not this ball is even close to the shape it should be. I was planning on just filling it in (weld) and slowly/carefully reshaping the ball.
I know they are a fairly cheap item (if you can find one anywhere) but due to recent shoulder surgery and the fact that I'm not currently able to return to work for another month, I can't justify spending any money on "car stuff".
Here is my ball in it's present form. If anyone has a picture of an actual 3rd gen f body clutch pivot ball then I would simply compare it to that and make up my mind on what I want to do. Even within GM specific cars, the length/etc does in fact vary depending on application. I just want to stick with a stock one so an adjustable one isn't something I want to mess with.

Re: clutch pivot ball 'shape'

That looks totally normal other than the moon shaped groove cut in it. IMO, I'd spend the few bucks and get a new one. The 84-92 pivot ball is threaded differently than the 83-down mechanical ones.

Where can you get one aside from OEM? I can't find the right one anywhere other than Vintage Auto
