91 Cadillac -> 92 Camaro
91 Cadillac -> 92 Camaro
Hi there, the 700R4 in my camaro I bought is shot. I am wondering if anyone knows if a 91 fleetwood (5.0) trans would bolt up and possibly work?
The 91 is longitudinal, so I am wondering what kind of transmission is in it. Wikipedia says 1990-1993 4T60E. T stands for transverse or was it transaxel? I know the E means it is electronically controlled, so it probably would not work huh?
Thanks =)

Re: 91 Cadillac -> 92 Camaro
It wouldn't have worked for you anyways, so no big loss.
Besides the T & E, the Caddy tranny would not have had the torque arm mount tan Camaro & Firebirds need. For a direct swap, you'll need to use a tranny from a Camaro or Firebird. Otherwise, you'll be swapping out the tail shafts. And no, I have no idea what all is involved in doing that.
