700r transmission servo

does anyone know what the servo does on this kinda tranny and what the symphtoms are of a bad one?

Theres a few different servos, gonna have to be more specific. I myself couldn't tell you any of the symptoms though.

The servo applies the band for 2nd and 4th (OD) gear. It also acts as the 3rd gear accumulator.

could that servo not having the return spring cause it to to shift hard outta 1st gear until i get on and it reaches 7000 rmps and not to have overdrive but shifts fine into 3rd
