It's called an Aftermarket or Retro-fit T56.. Has the weaker M29 gearset. Spohn sells Xmem's for them. They do have a directed fit shifter location and mechanical speedo, but almost impossible to find used. New, they'll set you back $2500.
You can make a similar setup by putting an adapter plate on a Fbody LS1 T56. You'll get the stronger MM6 gearset, but will have to cut the tunnel for the shifter and will have an electronic VSS.

Re: another 6 speed swap question
F-bodies never used a cable clutch.
The "aftermarket" T56 has a longer input shaft.
With an adapter plate it bolts to the 82, 83, or 84-92 Muncie pattern bellhousings.
The shifter is close but not exactly where the T5 one goes.
But, with the bellhousing + adapter plate + trans., it is longer than an OEM setup and requires a shorter than stock 84-92 driveshaft.
Except for the lack of a mechanical speedo drive, I would rather have a 93-97 LT1 T56 over the aftermarket T56.
Keep searching; there's gotta be threads on here about it.

Re: another 6 speed swap question
There is solution to the lack of a mechanical speedo drive, and it is also mechanical.
