3rd gen rear ends

I have a line on a rear end from a 84 trans am. It has a 3.73 posi W/disc brakes. I want to put it in to my 86 Camaro. A friend told me that the torque arms are different between the two. Does anyone know if there is a difference? They look the same to me, but I'm not positive.

Re: 3rd gen rear ends

The front mount on the torque arm may face the other direction. The diff itself is the same and either torque arm will fit.

Re: 3rd gen rear ends

I don't plan on removing anything but the rear end itself. I'm using my control arms, torque arm, and everything else. So this is good. Thank you.
