700r4 flexible lines + temperature sensor
I'm planning to change my 700r4 oil cooler lines from hard to flexible lines and in that process I would like to add an oil temperature gauge to the setup as well.
Here is the list of the fittings that I put together and planning to order to build the mentioned setup.
One of the trans oil lines would start with these in this order:
http://www.summitracing.com/parts/EAR-916106ERL/
http://www.summitracing.com/parts/EAR-100192ERL/ (temp sender unit goes into this piece)
http://www.summitracing.com/parts/EAR-809106ERL/
The fitting for the other trans line:
http://www.summitracing.com/parts/EAR-824506ERL/
After these items flexible -6 AN hoses would go to the transmission oil cooler.
I'm interested in any kind of feedback and help. What do you think about this setup? Will it work?
Thanks!

I would just get some S/S braided line and some flare fittings for the trans and radiator and call it a day. Do you have a aftermarket pan or a stock one ? You could alway drill and tap a hole in the pan and put the senor there.

Weld a bung to the sump and be done with it. Also, hard lines are maintainance free, I'd go with as little flex lines as possible.

I thought about putting the temp sensor into the pan as well, but could not figure out which way is the better one. Now I got it, thanks.
I planned the flexible lines because it's easier to work with them when I have to pull the transmission for some reason, and I can route them anywhere I want.
I'm also planning to use an external oil cooler instead of the original, so stock hard lines won't work, I bet.

Re: 700r4 flexible lines + temperature sensor
sump temp is more meaningful than line temp anyway.
I just did a rear mounted cooler setup w/ 5/16 hard lines for most of the length. Pretty easy to bend w/ a bender but it could also be done by hand.
Here's a copy of the post on it. Uses flex lines front and rear, easy to pull the tranny like this. Getting to the connections at the bulkheads is easier than at the tranny.

Okey, I'm convinced now to put the temp sensor into the oil pan. I'm still hesitating and thinking on hard vs. flexible lines.
Thanks for the pictures.
