Road Racing a 700R4
Guys,
I am doing a Track Day/School this weekend at Pacific Raceway. Unfortunately I have not yet swapped in a manual trans. So I will be doing this with the 700. It does have a Transgo shift improver kit. And I will be installing an auxiliary fluid cooler in the next few days. I will be manually shifting it.
Does anybody have any comments, tips, tricks on using this thing on the road course and helping it survive?
Thanks.

Sorry I didn't see this sooner.. When RRing a 700r4, make sure you never go into OD with it or it will burn up quick.. No reason to manually shift it, just leave it in "3" all the time. Otherwise as you did, you want to make sure you have a good cooler on it.

I pretty much left it in 3 the whole time. There is a really hard right then left on the track that gets down to about 40mph. I used second for those.
Pretty crazy how 3rd is good for about 55-125. Stupid long gears. At least the TPI has enough torque to make it work.
