shift kit ?

i am in the process of putting a bigger engine in my car. i currently have a 700R4 for a tranny now. i want to get it re built since as far as i know it has never been rebuilt and it has 146,xxx miles on it.

i want to get a shift kit for it also. i already have a B&M ratchet shifter in it. but when i would shift manualy up it hesitats between gears ( like it should to make shifts smooter) but i want to be able to hit my shifter and get to that next gear like now. will a shift kit do that for me. i also want to be able to put it it drive and just go without shifting so i dont want a manual valve body.

what do you recomend

Re: shift kit ?

I would contact Dana over at Pro-built Automatics. He knows the 700r4 and frequents the boards here a lot. Just get the whole rebuild kit from him, he includes a modified Transgo shift kit in most of his rebuild kits, if not all of them.

Re: shift kit ?

The TransGo Performance Shift kit is offered in "full manual" version if that is what you want. The TransGo Performance Shift that I offer will give you full automatic shifts and you will be able to hold any gear to any rpm if you want. With the full manual you still use the TV cable to control line pressure, so it is much easier on the front pump and sealing rings on the input shaft of the input drum. I have the modified version that allows smooth part throttle shifts and very quick WOT shifts in either version. The full manual does not cost any more than the full auyomatic version. Personally I would go with the full automatic version, as you will get tired of shifting it after awhile. Let me know if I can be of help? Dana
