Late 4L60E on 3rd gen
Hi.
I am planning to swap the factory TH700R4 with a late-model 4L60E (especially from 2002) transmission. The 4L60E tranny that I have has no mounting point for the factory 3rd gen torque arm, and as I see after a few hours of searching for information, the tailhousing of the 700R4 will not fit on the 4L60E because it has a 6 bolt tailhousing.
My question would be that what can I do with the torque arm? What are the options?
Thanks,
giszo

4L60E is electronically controlled which won't work in a 3rd gen without a Transmission computer.
What car did the trans come from?

Thanks, I know that the 4L60E is electronically controlled, and I also know that I will need a TCU to get it working properly. That part will not be a problem, I hope.
The tranny comes from a 2002 GMC truck.
Here's a picture of it: http://giszo.yaosp.org/camaro/v6_to_...4/CIMG7190.JPG

As I see for example Spohn Performance offers special torque arms with transmission crossmember for LSx / 4L60E swap: http://www.spohn.net/shop/1982-1992-...nsmission.html
What I do not know if the above mentioned kit will work the factory 305/350 SBC or not. I mean alignment stuffs as the site mentiones LSx motor mounts as well, but I'm planning to swap the transmission only and keep the factory SBC.

One more option that I can think of is to use a transmission crossmember with torque arm relocation, such as this: http://www.umiperformance.com/catalo...gcur1dop71d6f1
This way I could re-use the factory torque arm for now.
