Need some advice on BW 9 bolt rears

I have finally got around to dropping my 10 bolt rear on my 1991 camaro RS and going to put a BW 9 bolt in. I have been reading a lot of info on the boards and found some great stuff. I was looking to see what gear set I had and it made me mad to see I had the 2.77 gears inside. So I would like to see what you guys think would be a good gear set for my car. It is a 305 V8 mostly stock I might drop a new engine one day another 305 or 350. I would like a little more power but something that could be driven on the street with no problem. I don't drive the car now just a hobby until I get it all fixed up. I would also like to take take it to the track once in awhile. Any help would be great.

That was what I was thinking, but I saw I could get the 3.70 cheaper so I did not know what to buy. Do you know if you can buy the 3.45 gears or a 3 series carrier anywhere else other than 9bolt.com? Do I need to get the open carrier or the limited slip. Big price difference. One more question will I need to do to change or replace anything on the transmission?

I have a question, why would you take a 10 bolt out to put a 9 bolt in? I can not find any parts for the Aussie BW diff. except in Australia! My local Diff shop doesn't work on them either.

I like disc brakes and this has them on it already plus the 9 bolt is a little stronger. The 9 bolt came with the car when I got it but just not installed so I am going to try it out. If I do not like it I can work on the 10 bolt and switch back.

Re: Need some advice on BW 9 bolt rears

The disc brakes all around are a lot better. I got concerned a few years ago when I thought the diff was not pulling from both tires. Started doing some research and could not find any 9 bolt parts except in Australia. My friend and I just flushed the tranny because it wouldn't shift correctly after many TV cable adjustments. Now it shifts like new. I resently replaced the injectors with FIC's Bosch III's 22#ers. Now it will idle smooth, starts easy and will spin the tires after shifting to second. My diff seems to be working fine, so I'm not as concerned about parts.
