Ok. Putting a pontiac 400 into my 87 TA. I'm also using the th400 trans that bolts up to the pontiac block. Got the hurst swap kit, crossmember bolted up just fine. But, the piece that's supposed to bolt to the tailshaft of the trans won't fit at all...It would cover the speedo gear housing, which it also keeing it from getting close to the bolts. And the bolt holes on the hurst piece are to far apart, the holes to bolt on the mount on the bottom are too far apart as well...wtf and I missing here? I've heard people talking about reusing the stock "second crossmember" to make the kit work...I've never heard of this piece. I've owned a lot of 3rd gens and have never even seen anything like this...any help? A picture of the piece I need would be great. thanks!
