After trying to search i could not find my answer, can a 4L60E Torque Converter be used on a 700R4? i got a good deal on a Yank from my buddy and wasnt sure. I know the main this is just the electronic difference with the 2 but i thought other than that they were pretty much the same...thanks for all and any help

if your transmission is indeed an 88 like your car is, then yes. they both are 30 spline input shafts. earlier trannys were 27 spline.

i used an aftermarket 2800 stall 10" converter, and it is advertised for both 700r4 and 4l60e. on top of that, i baught it off a fellow who had it in his lt1 4l60e camaro lol. and it worked in my 700r4. so did the lock up clutch.
