Clutch Fork broken!?!?
I have an issues last week the car was driving and shifting fine. On my way home the clutch seemed like i lost all pressure. i pushed it down and nothing so i nursed the car come checked the fluid i was a little low so i filled it and jacked the car up looking for leaks did not see any. so i have my brother look under it and he moves the rubber boot on the slave cylinder and it pisses fluid so i change the slave out get a new one. so we are bleeding the system out and he bends the master rod while pumping the clutch. so i go and get a new clutch master cylinder and we are bleeding the system. as i am watching the fork move. it is only moving about 1/2" sometimes and by now there is not anymore air coming out from what it sounds like but my brother informs me that the pedal is stopping half way like that is the stoping point. so we switch spots and he is looking at everything and discovers the clutch for is cracked before the ball pivot. it has a new clutch in it. new master and slave cylinders. any ideas on what could have caused this?

thanks for the help

Re: Clutch Fork broken!?!?
Doesn't look cracked to me; the same scratch is on the BH right below it, and there's no particular sign of bending and all that sort of thing where it would be most severe, which is, on the raised "lips" beside the scratch.
If the fork was cracked, it would not cause the symptoms you describe. Instead, the end connected to the slave cyl would move just fine, and the other end inside the BH wouldn't move like it should. Wouldn't make the pedal "stop".
However, if it IS actually cracked, the cause would be, it broke and now needs a new one.
The total travel of the slave cyl end of the fork should be about .6". So if you're seeing "about ½"", the hydraulics are probably fine.
If the pedal "stops" before fully operating the clutch, then something is misassembled. Take the trans and clutch back out and check your work carefully.

Re: Clutch Fork broken!?!?
i did the clutch kit about 5 or 6 months ago on it. and has been working fine. how would something bind hydraulically like this? with air in the lines the pedal moves to the floor. but once the air is out it out the pedal stops half way. it is honestly bugging me. i have never had this happen before. i am going to take more pics in a few

Re: Clutch Fork broken!?!?
ok so i got this all repaired. why it did not dawn on me i didn't have the slightest clue. first off the clutch fork was broken in half with a flexing point still. so as you pump the clutch pedal it fills the slave cylinder and pushes the piston forward. mean that the rod going to the fork is pushing on the broken fork and the slave cylinder piston is all the to the stopping point. so what gives the master cylinder rod or bar.
