4th gen rear end issues....
Yes i have tried searching and i couldn't find what i was looking for.... Ok so i have a 4th gen rear in my car. It has 3.23 gears and its LS. MY problem is that she will only spin 2 wheels when I'm going straight and at the track i get a 50/50% chance that both will spin on launch.. The rear is out of a 95' Z28 (or so i was told) if i turn right or left and pin it i get a nasty one wheel peel.. which i'm NOT a fan of. I was told the 4th gens use Zexel Torsen units which don't need servicing or very rarely do. I shouldn't have an Auburn unit should I? (it deff IS a 4th gen rear, its 2" wider than my old one) I feel like i do b/c i can see springs in the POSI unit. The Zexel Torsen units don't have springs right? If i do have an Auburn unit what are my options? I would like to upgrade to 4.10's or 3.73's too at least...(attached picture is not MY unit but a unit that looks identical.) Thanks

Re: 4th gen rear end issues....
Sure looks like an Auburn to me. It's probably well worn/worn out. I can't really give you any advice on how to rectify the problem short of replace it with a new one, or upgrade to a better carrier.
Edit: Where's the option to buy a new (not used) limited slip carrier, and install gears? Used crap is used crap, if you're going to spend money installing gears, do it once, do it right, and never worry about it again.

Well i don't want to dump money into the 10 bolt. I don't want a rear i might break. I'll dump money into a 9" or 12 bolt but not a 10 bolt. I just was hoping to find a rear for sale with a good working posi and good gears already installed. But i don't get that lucky. haha
