Transmission to Torque Arm Bushing
A couple of nights ago I heard a large thunk, and it felt like something hit the driveshaft tunnel of the car. I probably drove the car for another 100 km before I got home that night.
Everytime I shifted gears, or had to brake, I could hear and feel the same thunk. It seemed to do it whenever there was a big shift in the car's weight.
Tonight I threw it up on jackstands, and it looks like the torque arm bushing is finished.
My questions are; (1) do I have to remove the whole torque arm to replace the bushing? (2) should I replace the transmission mount, or will that be fine?

Re: Transmission to Torque Arm Bushing
I believe the torque arm is in a brace housing (aka clam shell) that is attached to the transmission. I simply just cut mine off since I couldn't get the bolts to loosen and I was installing a Spohn Torque Arm which doesn't require the OEM mount. I would imagine it could be unbolted and slid off the torque arm. If you do decide to unbolt it make sure you have the rear end supported because the torque arm holds the angle it could possibly rock the housing up or down on you. If the transmission mount doesn't show anything wrong with it I say leave it be. They are easy enough to change with a jack anyways.

Re: Transmission to Torque Arm Bushing
You might double-check, as the problem "seems" more associated with the trans mount than the torque arm mount.
