Engine: 350 stock but not for long
Transmission: 700r4 but swap to manual
pros and cons on a tko 600

need to know form people that actually put the trans in there 3rd gen car thanks.

trans has a notchy shift, but its a very positive feel, no guessing if you are in gear, and no sloppy shifts. Its just fine IMO.

size, its a little tall for the tunnel, it fits, but sits at a decent angle downard towards the rear of the car. I just finished "fixing" this issue, havent driven it since, still waiting on carpet.

streetability, no problem at all. I would have no problem DD's a car with the trans.



in reality though, unless you get a screaming deal on a second hand one, which are hard to find, a lt1 style t56 would be cheaper.

thanks for the reply i was wondering what you had to fix did you fab the floor pan tunnel or what did you do

i cut the tunnel from behind the shifter to the first rib, under the radio pod, and up to the top of the tunnel, but not all the way through. I then raised the rear up about 1", and patched the sides of the tunnel back up. Let me raise the back of the trans just over 1/2"-5/8" at the trans mount

I "think" the console wills till fit, but i wont know until I get the interior back together
