Engine: 305 TBI Injection,Edelbrock intake,

Axle/Gears: 89 Trans-Am 3.42

Transmission acting up

I have a 92 Camaro with an automatic transmission -overdrive,when it shifts up through the gears ,its fine,but say im in 1st,take off is great ,but when I let off the gas ,its like I,m in neutral,it does it in 2nd,and drive.If I were to drop it into 2nd ,say going down a hill,its the same as neutral,this just started,is it ok to drive for awhile or is this major till its fixed?,plz help

Check fluid, is it burnt? The longer you drive like that the worse it may become? How many miles on car? If it were me I'd change the fluid and filter immediately...

The problem is in the overrun clutch. The transmission will have to come out to get this fixed. The clutches could be burned or the sprag itself is gone or the overrun hub is broke. You will know once it is taken apart.
