It seems my luck is at it again. I got my carb dialed in ok for now. On weds night, I decided to swap in 3.73's and use some taller tires I have for now. I threw the gears in, everything is ok, drove it home from the shop where I did them, still everything ok. Thurs night, took it out just to go up the road a ways to get them warm and make sure they are still ok, and it wont go into third. Shifting manually, still no go. It just slips until higher rpm where second would be, then it will accelerate. I know physically its shifting to third because if I leave it second manually and decelerate, the rpms dont drop too much, but if I slow down the same way and then shift into third, the rpm's drop a lot more. I did some searching last night, most things that pop are a bad vacuum line or modulator. I checked the line and that is good, no restrictions or leaks. Looking for some advice before I decide to park it for the winter and get my 700r4 fixed.

 

High gear clutch is smoked. Won't work again until it's replaced.

What would you like advice about?

 

Thats exactly what my tranny friend said. I guess its an omen to get the 700r4 beefed up and back in.
