Camero tranny Help???
Camero tranny Help???
I put an 01 Camero trans in behind my small block and it worked perfectly for 2 years. removed to finish car. After reassembly, I can't shift into gear when engine is running. Its like I'm not moving the TO bearing far enough. I used spacers to move the hydrolic piston as far as I could, without change, so back to square one. I saw mention of TO bearing being installed backwards, and my neighbor thought the clutch disc might be stuck to the pressure plate or the clutch cage, and suggested trying to force it loose with a good pop of the clutch, or slamming on the brakes after spinning it up on jacks (not big on this idea) Any help please?

How long was the transmission out? The clutch disc could be stuck to the flywheel.
If that's the case, throw the rear end up on jack stands, step on the clutch pedal, and crank the engine over a couple times. That might be enough to break it loose.
