T56 vss
Ive had my t56 in my car for a few months and Im curious about the speedometer. Im aware I need a dakota digital box, but what would happen if I just hook the the speedometer straight to the t56? Will it read under or over the actual speed? Im just curious.
Also is there an alternative to the dakota digital box? Something DIY maybe?

Re: T56 vss
What type of vehicles are we talking about? Most thirdgen's used mechanical speedos with the VSS buffer in the back, supplying the signal to the ECM. The T56 VSS has a different PPM and waveform than the thirdgen VSS buffered signal.

If you have a late-model thirdgen with the electronic speedo, you're in better luck, but still have some tweaks to do for the PPM.
