I bought this today off craigslist, 75.00. Not complete has no brakes. I now very little about these and didn't learn much more after using search on here. 1 tag on cover reads spin resistant and other has p/n 10046604 Ration 2:77 Ser. No. 7905. I have a 89 RS that I have installed a nice 350 tbi and auto, with a good cam headers no cat 2.5 exhaust and flowmaster. I really wanted a lower gear. Any help?

 

Not sure what kind of "help" would apply here, but...

Sounds like $75 down the drain to me. You took somebody else's problem that there's basically no economically viable solution for, off their hands; and at a profit to them, besides. A very generous thing to do.

Oh well, live and learn. Next time, post BEFORE you buy, not AFTER.

 

If you want to change gears then the first thing you are going to have to do is buy a 3 series differential. The 2.77 fits a 2 series and no 3.45 or 3.70 gears fit the 2 series.
