no park
i recently bought my first camaro.when i bought it the guy told me that it doesnt have park.it is a tci automotive 700r4.he told me when they put it in they used to short of a shifter cable.so when the shifter is in park its realy in reverse.all the gears shift fine and everything else works great.could the cable be the problem or something else.

That is completely stupid but it would work. Technically, you would be one gear off when manually shifting. If this is true, you can get a new shifter cable form the parts store and swap it out.

Get a new cable and make sure it is properly adjusted. In fact, you may want to try and adjust the cable you have to see if the guy you bought it from was an idiot who couldnt figure out how to adjust it.
I would say go the site of the manuafacturer of the shifter and cable and see if you can download instructions on how to adjust it.
