12 bolt?
12 bolt?
Hey everybody im fairly new here and i have a question about a rear end. I am not to familiar with them so hopefully someone can help me. Someone offered me a 4:56 gears. 12bolt chevy rear switched to 3:73s. for $50 bucks. I have a 92 rs would this work? I tried to do some research but i couldnt find a good answer. Thanks guys

most likely not.
3rd and 4th gens use a torque arm style rear suspension, no other GM car uses the same setup. You have to use a rear setup for a torque arm. These would all be aftermarket housings, either from Moser, Strange, currie, ect. The 12bolt you are being offered is most likely setup for leaf springs or a 4 link style and will not work.
