fretting over t56 thoughts for ls2... help

Ok so im wanting to do an ls2 swap. Only thing is im running a stand alone system from accel and im worried that when I buy a t56 out of a gto or 98- 02 camaro that im going to need an ecu for the tranny because my stand alone system wont opperate the t56 electronics; or does the t56 even have electronics, besides the speedo? Im not vary up to date with the lsx engines or transmissions. Also could I just buy an aftermarket t56 from tremec with a bellhousing for my ls2?

T56 has no ECM control that's absolutely required. It does assist with the Rev Lockout when the VSS is not 0mph and the CAGS, but neither is required (or desired in the case of CAGS)

CAGS = Computer Aided Gear Selection, aka "Skip shift"

just leave the cags unplugged and the solenoid won't work. they make a resister to plug in so you won't have a check engine light, but shouldn't be an issue since you aren't running obd2

and you'll have to wire the reverse lockout solenoid to your brake pedal or a switch so you can get it in reverse easily, but not accidentally.
