to make a long story short i ran my car last week at the track ,on the way back home it will not shift to overdrive. so i tow it home checked the fluid and im a quart and a half low,so i top it off hoping this would solve the problem.tried adjusting the tv cable still nothing . car has been sitting for over a year and this was the first time i drove it hard since my engine rebuid ... any ideas thanks in advance

 

Mine did something similar. Does yours work alright in 1,2,D,R? Mine did and when i put it in overdrive it acted as if it were in neutral. I pulled the pan off and found chunks of debris in it, and I am almost certain I blew a sprag. could be something similar?

 

Mine pulls. All the way through , just won't go into o.d . I'm gonna jack it up and make sure the plug hasn't come loose from the tranny, and change the fluid and filter.
