4L60E torque converter into 700r4

pretty simple willl a torque converter for a 4L60E fit into a 700r4 and work properly? Got a hell of a deal going on a vigilante converter. Im like 95% sure it is the same. Just some reassurance would be nice.

As long as it is not the LS1 style, it will work fine.

Yep, in fact I have gone the opposite direction. A 700R4 converter installed on a 1995 4L60E. Like was said above just make sure it is not for the later LS versions.

I believe the pumps changed for PWM TCC function and that is the cutoff for interchange sometime in the late 90s.

The physical depth thing is another interchange problem.

I just installed the converter out of my '88 Bird into the '95 Blazer I picked up. It has PWM TCC and seems to be working fine. I don't see why you can't go the other way around. Coverter still locks up and the thing moves. Only issue is that the stall is lower now. Pretty doggy off the line so it helps with fuel economy this way I suppose.
