auto to manual trans swap
Ok, like everyone who has a Camaro they want to pump up, i want to change the boaring auto... I am aware that the very simple swap to a T5 is a sure waste of money and ill be setting myself up 4 disappointment. I like the idea of a 5 speed but i know the T5 wont hold up well with even 300lb ft of toqure... is there another swap thats not a huge pain to fit and will hold up? i love the T56 but i know it needs a good deal of modification to fit corectly in a third gen.. any advice is helpful. thanx!!

you can get a bolt in t56 replacement from richmond. It will directly replace a t5 and doest need the special parts for the other t56 swaps, but at a cost.
if this is a v6 car, you better just stick with a t5

it is a v6 for now but that wont be the case for long. the trany swap will take place once im done with the 350. im hoping the new motor will put out 350-400hp and at the very least 300+lb ft of toqure. did any of the older camaros have strong tranys that can handle the power i want to make? maybe a 4speed? and would they swap?

Just swap a T-56 in. Its not that hard. chicken. haha just kidding. But seriously you could be so mechanically disinclined and still do it (that might be a stretch). but in the end its worth it. To help theres stickys all over on swaps and countless threads.
When that '05 GT is drivin next to you on the interstate I'm sure you'd like to go well into the 100's with an engine thats not at the red line
