Transmission: 700R4
Axle/Gears: 3.42
Help With Proper Speedo Gears
I have looked at the stickys and posts regarding this subject but I am a bit confused. Hopefully someone can assist me and give me the proper part numbers or point me in the right direction.
My 85 Z28 has the 700R4, and the previous owner changed the rear to a 3.42. I am running 245-50-16 tires. Can someone tell me the proper gears I need to change in the tranny to get my speedometer accurate?...... Possibly a kit or something would be awesome....

I spent 20seconds reading the sticky and even after all the whinning about doing math, the cheatsheet post listed it directly..

Most of the ones in the cheatsheet are a tooth or more off what GM used. You'd want 15 / 42.
