Im doing a 5.3 4l60e swap into my 86 firebird and im having trouble finding a tailshaft housing for the ls1 camaro 4l60e with the bolt holes for the torque arm. I got my hands on the complete truck setup and Im tring to make it work. Does anyone know where to find or have the part number to the housing? Also I noticed the the rod where the shifter linkage connects is longer than the ls1 camaro 4l60e and was wondering if this is going to be a problem? thanks

 

There are torque arm kits now that bolt to the tunnel and/or the crossmember and not the tranny - that would be easy to get and do.

 

Where would I find one of these kits because the only ones I have found are for the 700r and T5

 

Not sure who sells the tunnel-mounted torque arms, I do have a local friend that has one, I'll ask him. Couldn't you also use a 4l60E torque arm and crossmember? Spohn sells those for $369, includes drive shaft loop as well. http://www.spohn.net/shop/1998-2002-...d-Torque-Arms/
