700r4 rebuild kit
recently i found an 88 k1500 for sale but the trans is going now i though about buying it, but my question is whats a really good, decent priced rebuild kit for a 700r4, i found a few im just looking at what you all haver used and recommend. i thought that since camaros and the truck have the same trans that there is bound to be some common info between them

ok so whats the difference between that one and the one listed on summit, besides $300
Re: 700r4 rebuild kit
Do your homework and "look" what is in the kits. Mine are the most complete rebuild kits out there. They come with everything. Plus I add fixes and modifications to the kits, that no one else addresses.

Re: 700r4 rebuild kit
that is good to know. i talked to they guy with the truck and he said the oil looked murky so im thinking it might just need a new filter and oil, because i had the same thign happen to the camaro after it sat for 4 years, so im hoping for the best, but if i do need a rebuild kit i know where to go now

Re: 700r4 rebuild kit
After just finishing a complete rebuild on my 700r4 with a TCI master rebuild kit, and many many trips to the local tranny shop to replace pieces not present in the kit (stator shaft, sunshell, all but 2 barrings, corvette servo, foward sprag, +alot of the smaller pieces) I will have to say I regret not going with pro built. I have spent probably more in the end, and I had to replace just about everything supplied in their kit. Go with Pro-Built. Seems expensive at first, but it is complete, whereas most others are not. In the long run, it is a much better deal.
