Car: 1987 Camaro Sport Coupe

Engine: 2.8 MPFI

Transmission: 5-Speed Standard

Axle/Gears: 3.42

7.5 gm auburn 26 spline posi

Will this replace my unit in my 1987 2.8 t5 Sport Coupe w/3:42 open diff?

I want to upgrade to posi and want to know if thats what I need? Thats cut and paste from an add.

Pass on the Auburn. There are much better differentials out there. The Eaton Posi would be a great choice, and the Duragrip is also a great choice for a little less money.

i have a 91 rs w/ 305 and open rear and want to put a posi in. Will the duragrip fit right in place of the old dif?

You will have to shim it to set the backlash and bearing preload, but that has to be done no matter what differential you use.
