700R4 TV Cable Adjustment

Edit: Never mind. I have read that it is hard to notice the difference between 3rd and 4th without a locking converter, especially at lower speeds.

I installed a TCI TV cable and am trying to get it adjusted. My 700R4 does not have wiring to lock the TC so I am running a non-locking TC. I installed the TV cable per the instructions. It seems to be at the sweet spot. If I move the slider towards the carb (Rochester quad with proper geometry for th700) then it shifts really high in the RPM, further back lower in the RPM.

I have not driven over 45mph yet as I am shaking out the bugs from a frame up resto. So far I have not gotten a 4th gear shift. It shifts great through third. I would have expected the 4th gear shift to happen above 40 or so, but it hasn't.

So should it not select 4th until I am going faster? I have 4.11 gears and 33" tires, by the way, if that makes a difference. I'll get it on the highway eventually, but I don't want to drive it again until the TV cable is correct.

Thanks for your advice

Steve
