Rolls in park, and OD won't work right?
I put in the stock shifter after taking out a B&M shifter the previous owner installed.
Now, when I put it in park, the transmission will shift to park (or I assume that's what it is as the car doesn't move forward or backward.) I can push the car while the shifter is in park. I'm not sure if it shifted into park and it's not right or it shifted into neutral.
My other problem is that I have to shift to D then to OD for OD to work. If I go directly to OD it won't work. Why is that? It was like that when I bought the car also.

I believe I figured part of it out. Looks like the original linkage arm was replaced when the B&M shifter was installed. I don't know if that shifter comes with a new linkage arm, but the one on my transmission as 3 holes and doesn't leave room for the bolt to go onto the cable end. I remember it being hard for the linkage to move because of that. Where can I get an original style linkage arm with the one hole? If I could find a pic I would post it. I hope you get what I'm saying.

I found a couple pics...the first pic is the type of lever I have attached to the transmission now. The second pic is what I think I should have. Am I right?

IDK if any help, here is my experience with Park not engaging--
When we got the Camaro, it had a dress-up chrome generic shifter, wouldn't always get Park.
When I got a complete shifter from jy & put it in, I noticed the plastic rod thing under the button on the GM part was about 1- 1 1/2 inch longer than the generic thing, And, there were 2 cables to attach to the GM shifter.
After attaching both cables & the GM shifter, we get all selections.
I've never had a Brand Name after market shifter, so IDK what kind of rod or trans mounted selector would be used.
I can MMS a pic of our stock trans cable // mount tomorrow night around 7:30 if it would help! PM your email addy if you think it'll be any use!!
With the B&M users, I'm sure someone can give a direct answer.

Second pic looks familiar.

I don't have an extra trans selecter lever!
If you can't find 1, LMK so Friday I can call a couple yards here.
( EDIT )
PM RCAR7395-- he may be able to come up with 1.
He's got good rep. I have ordered from him a coupletimes.

I PMed him about it last night, but I haven't gotten a reply yet. I also posted in the wanted parts section, and haven't gotten anything there yet either.
I did find it on here though:
http://www.compnine.com/index.php?u=...04&grouptype=B
Part #18
I'm not going to pay $9 for that and another $16 for shipping. That's ridiculous.

Trans shop in you area!?!
As far as OD no working, the only thing I can think of would be TV cable or trans fluid issues.
Other than that, I have no clue!

Well, hopefully it's either one of those two. I have a feeling it's the TV cable as the last owner seemed to not know much, or didn't care enough.
I can't see why it's so hard for me to find a damn selector lever! I mean every 700r4 needs one.
