Help disconnect tranny from engine!!! FAST
I pulled my 5.0 engine out of my camaro a few weeks ado and i recently purchased a 350. Well i have someone interested in the 5.0 and i need the tranny disconnected from the engine. So far i have the bolts that are on the outer housing out. I pulled the tranny and the conter opened up where it connects the tranny to engine, will i looked inside and there are 3 bolts connected to the flywheel to tranny. Their in there snug and i cant get them to budge, any help or exact size wrench to use? Ive tried a wrench in there and hitting it with a hammer but the space is so limited that i cant really get a good grasp with the wrench, all i know is that im stripping the bolt. Can anyone help or give good ideas? Ive already sprayed it with D-40 and that didnt help

You need to turn the engine over so the bolts are accessable.
A flywheel turning tool is what you need - buy one or figure one out.
Some 305s are turnable by hand - grab the flywheel and grunt!
Or hook the starter up to a battery charger for power.

Use a good 6 point on it. Should be able to get a socket on there when the flywheel is in the right position.
you dont have to have any special tools to turn the flywheel.
Ive never used anything more then a good screwdriver or small pry bar.
oh and if I remember correctly, they are 9/16

Idk what kind of room you have to work with, but breaker bar if you can fit one in there, I seem to recall having fun with a 3/8 ratchet on my flexplate bolts because I couldn't get a 1/2" ratchet or a breaker bar in there(that or it was too long) but diff engine and trans, so maybe you can. Also try PB blaster, soak it every now and again, last but not least, if you strip it, you have to get a specialty helix type socket....been there done that with an exhaust manifold bolt, fun times.
Re: Help disconnect tranny from engine!!! FAST
it sounds like you are describing the 3 bolts that fasten the torque converter to the flex plate. Simply get a box wrench, put it on the bolt and a few quick whacks with a hammer and they will break free. Loc-tite is used on them during assembly, and re-assembly.
