Rear Diff Oil Fill Plug Stripped
So you know that little plug on the side of the rear diff where you add oil. Well mine's stripped. The square indentation where your supposed to put a socket in is round. Anyone else have this problem and if so how did you fix it?
Thanks
Alex
Thanks

You could try welding a bolt to it. Find one that fits into the stripped out area. I'd try that before I tried drilling and using an easyout. Metal shavings in the rear end would not be a good thing. Or you could get an aftermarket cover that has a drain and fill plug in it.

Drill it out to about 3/8" or larger, then use one of those square bolt extractors. A big one. Replace it with a brass one.

Thanks guys, I don't why the hell I didn't think of welding a bolt to it. What would I do without ya'll
But would someone be so kind as to point me in the direction of a replacement plug? rockauto doesn't have them and neither do my local parts stores.
Thanks again
