Hey guys, i've decided to stick with a 700r4 now. I have a early 80's model 4wd chevy at my shop that has a newly rebuilt 700r4 in it, will that trans work in my car?

 

it should the only thing that makes it 4 wheel is the transfer case which is connected to the trans itself

 

If i am correct and if not can someone please let me know. I think the only difference is the tail cone needs to be changed to a 2wd could be wrong it might also need a 2wd output shaft

 

yeah im not too sure on that, i just know that the transfer case isnt part of the trans, its connected to it which makes your front wheels work also when put into gear. as for the input shafts it might need it seeing as a transfer case isnt connected with a yoke, wchih a driveshaft is
