Re: 700r 4th gen!!!!
Nope - not without an expensive computer to control it.
1994+ cars had a 4L60E tranny - basically a 700R4, but all electronically controlled - your 1995 car has a seperate PCM for the tranny that controls shifting, lockup, etc. - and it connects to the ECM for information - there's no way of running the 4L60E tranny in a 3rd gen unless you drop ALOT of cash into an aftermarket computer to control it.
Part the 4th gen, and either 1) buy a 700R4 (especially if the car is a pre-1988), or 2) have the tranny rebuilt. Mid-year 1987 there were significant internal changes to the 700R4 making it stronger/better than pre-1987 trannies, thus I recommend a 1988 - 1993 tranny. You need a 700R4, or a 4L60 (with no E at the end) - the only year designated with a 4L60 (with no E) was 1993 (at least in F-bodies).

what motor is in it?
you could take your LT1, trans, and wiring and swap it over to the 3rd gen, and then sell the motor the 3rd gen has.

and part out the 4th gen, that could help pay for the swap. the interior, the dash, the rear end could all get you some decent coin. then any body panels that are useable and after that scrap it for a couple more bucks.
