i have a 1990 rs camaro with a 5 speed manual and a 350 motor. i was wondering what gears to use. 3.23,3.42,3.55 or 3.73's? i don't want to be supper low to where i am burning through my first gear real quick but i want to be low enough so i can launch really quick. any input would be great.

 

3.42 or 3.23 gears would be perfect for a 5 speed.

 

can i ask why? like what makes those gears good for a 5 speed?

Not alot of sense in posting redundant questions just so you can get the same answers as every other time somebody posts the same question, which they do rather often.

 

You have 3.08 gears now? 3.23s and 3.42s are good for street acceleration and good cruising rpms. If you don't want to be burning through 1st real quick then get the 3.42 or 3.23 rearend.
