what goes when the TV cable has been adjusted wrong
I just bought a 1992 firebird with a supposedly rebuilt 700r4 in it. From what i can gather, (attempted driving, searching and reading the forum) the guy who put the tranny in made a mistake. What exactly (besides clutches) goes bad when the TV cable has "short spring syndrome". I have to decide between rebuilding this one or heading for the boneyard. I do know that this wasn't the original transmission from the car since he had to swap on the tailhousing to get the torque arm hooked up. I havn't been able to take pressure readings yet since i dont have a guage and cant get it into my shop at the moment.

All I know is the tranny, exactly what inside gets killed I don't know.

Line pressure won't increase properly with throttle opening. Shifts will be early and soft and clutch holding pressure will be low.
