whats the preferred clutch for a t56

I'm doing the LT1/t-56 swap into my 3rd gen, I know I need the conversion flywheel http://www.summitracing.com/parts/CTF-700107/ but what clutch would be best for my application??

My set up consists of a 383 stroker @480fwhp and 478ft lbs, this was on the engine dyno.

"""After some carb tuning and a couple of chassis dyno pulls thru a 700r4 with a 2400 stall and 3.42 rear gears,
First baseline run was 350.69rwhp/363.60 rwtrq, and the A/F was around 13.5-13.8 during the run, took the carb off/apart and changed primary jets from 70 to 74, secondary from 82 to 84, and squared the squirters up to .37 for prim/sec from .31 prim and .35 sec.
Second run was 348.97rwhp/369.08rwtrq, and the A/F was @12.8 for the run.
I'm was disapointed in the results... the tuner said the trq convertor is real tight said I need a 3200-3600 stall.
Basically it boils down to a 28% drivetrain loss..."""

I also have LT headers and true dual exhaust.

This was done a year ago, and I've only put about 5k miles on the combo with a few track days, the last trip to the track put a fatal hurting on the A4, and has finally bit the dust.

Re: whats the preferred clutch for a t56

There's not really a "best". Kind of like, what's the "best" color to paint a room? Iunno... bedroom? kitchen? bath? What colors do you like? What colors does your wife like? What color are the rooms around it? All of that kind of stuff affects the choice of what's "best".

I used a Centerforce Dual Friction in mine. Love it. Some others hate it. Impossible for me to guess what you'd think. My motor is bigger than yours though so who knows.

However, since at that point you're basicaly dealing with a stock LT1/T-56 combo, you could use ANYTHING for that combo. Spec, Hays, McLeod, and so on. Talk to the LT1 guys and see what they have to say, and how it applies to YOU. Filter what they say through your preferences.
