transmission is slowing new motor down to stall??

hi, I've been working on a engine swap with my 91 RS, pulled the 305 out , put a 355 in. This motor came out of a 93 chevy pickup, now the only things I've changed have been the block, cylinder size, and the heads are vortec. The motor runs good kinda has a stupid moment at first then the computer picks up and smooths it out. My problem is that when I put in gear to move it, it stalls out. I kinda have to two foot it to keep it from stalling out. Would there be another problem at hand other than just adjusting the idle?? Is there anything that should be changed? Thanks

You'll need 350 injectors in the TBI unit, a 350 knock sensor in the block, and a 350 TBI prom from a truck or caprice - your 305 prom is not going to understand a 350 motor!

Re: transmission is slowing new motor down to stall??

ok, I had two TBIs one from the 305 and one from the 350 when I got it. The female end of the plug to the 350 didn't match up with the plug in the wiring harness to the car so I took the top part of the 350 and mounted to the bottom of the 305. That would solve the injector problem right? I did replace the knock sensor on the block. Now the TBI prom, I do not know what you mean by that. I have done alot of changes to this motor, it's been a 8 to 9 month project can't seem to recall what I've done I guess until it is brought up.

It will run with a 305 PROM but you should consider tuning it in the near future for best results.

As for the stall, there's nothing transmission indicated from your post and you should research this issue in the TBI forum.
