700r4 lost 3rd and 4th ? stall damage
Checked tranny fluid before I left the house was clean and red. Drove the car a few miles and came home. On the way back 3rd and 4th went out. Checked fluid when I got home and it was black and had a burnt smell. Had to drive about a mile and half to get it home in 2nd. My question is do you think its hurt my stall? Its a huges 2500 and only had about 1500 miles on it since I put it in with the new motor. The car has only been started a couple of times since this happened and has not been moved. Can it be reused with the new transmission or do I just need to get another one, which I really don't have the money for at this time.

yep, its a common problem with mileage and hp upgrades. Does your fluid look black and smell burnt. If so you have probably burnt the clutches like mine has. I'm just wondering if it has damaged my stall and if not what would be the best way to clean it out. when you get yours fixed make sure that the t.v. cable is properly adjusted. There are post on here on how to do it. Seems like your in the same boat as a lot of us.
