Car: 1992 25 Anniversary Chevy Camaro RS
Engine: TBI 305sb
Transmission: 700R-4
Axle/Gears: Stock
Replace the VSS on a 92 RS?
Ever since I have owned this car the speedometer works only maybe 30% of the time. When I'm going down the road in D after a few seconds I will get a CEL for code 24. Now if I put it in OD after a while the speedometer will start working and the CEL will go off. But the second I stop and start going again the speedometer will stop working again and sometimes the code 24 will come back on until the speedometer starts working again. Then it goes off...
As I understand on the 90-92 cars the VSS is located on the tail of the 700R-4 so, am I experiencing a faulty VSS? Or do I need to be looking at something else before I drop $100 on a new VSS...
